Former Boise State offensive lineman Rees Odhiambo was a little surprised to be taken during the second day of the NFL Draft in April, going late in the third round to the Seattle Seahawks.

Odhiambo was making dinner when he got the call. Coming into the draft process, he expected to play guard, but also has moved around at both tackle spots. He was a tackle with the Broncos.

“You’re going to see him really start to play multiple spots now,” Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable said. “Kind of taught him as a left side player but you’ll start seeing him play that left guard spot, some left tackle and even right tackle.”

On Friday, Odhiambo opened practice with the first-team offense at right tackle. Sunday, he played right and left tackle in a simulated game. With his versatility added to an area of need for Seattle, Cable said “We feel pretty lucky that we have him.”
