Former Boise State tailback Doug Martin rushed for 235 yards on 27 carries on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, Martin is just the third player since the NFL/AFL merger to rush for at least 235 yards in a game twice in his career. The other two were O.J. Simpson and Corey Dillon.
Martin previously rushed for 251 yards as a rookie in 2012 against the Raiders. That was the last time anyone in the NFL rushed for 230 yards in a game.
Martin has revived his career this season after two years in which injuries hobbled him. He has 941 rushing yards this season on 188 carries, an average of 5 yards per carry. He averaged 4.6 yards per carry during his breakout rookie season (1,454 rushing yards).
