Doctors complete Jeremy Ioane’s kidney transplant

Former Boise State safety Jeremy Ioane received a kidney from his sister Jasmine on Tuesday at the University of Utah.

The transplant surgery went well, according to Boise State. The siblings were taken to post-op recovery.

Jeremy Ioane was a third-year starter on the Boise State football team last season until his kidney disease worsened to the point that he was only able to play in small spurts. He learned before the season that he needed a transplant but opted to defer the surgery until after his senior season.

Jasmine is his twin sister.

Here is our feature on Ioane’s condition from Thanksgiving Day.

Former Boise State wide receiver Titus Young will spend a year at a mental health facility as part of his latest legal case. Young also was sentenced to five years of probation in the case stemming from an assault on his former attorney.

The Los Angeles Times and ESPN.com have the details.
