We’re counting down the days to the Boise State football team’s first spring practice with daily blog posts on players to watch. Spring ball begins Monday and ends April 13. The Spring Game is April 11 (5 p.m.).

5. CB Jonathan Moxey

Moxey started the last 13 games of 2014 - all but the opener. Senior Donte Deayon is locked into the starting job on the other side.

Moxey will have to hold off a large but inexperienced group of players who will be after his job starting this spring. That group could include former starter Mercy Maston, if he doesn't play nickel, junior college transfer Raymond Ford, sophomore Cameron Hartsfield and redshirt freshman Zavior Hoxie this spring. A deep class of DB recruits arrives in the fall and also could factor into the race.

Moxey showed significant improvement through the 2014 season, his true sophomore campaign, and will be tough to unseat. He had 33 tackles, seven pass breakups and an interception.

Previously:

6. RB Jeremy McNichols

7. LB Tanner Vallejo

8. WR Chaz Anderson

9. DB Mercy Maston

10. QB Ryan Finley
