Bronco Beat

Boise State played in the best football game of the millennium, this website says

Since the year 2000, thousands of games have been played in the Football Bowl Subdivision. The popular site SB Nation asked its fans to rank the best ones.

Is it any wonder which was No. 1?

Of course, it was Boise State’s 43-42 overtime win over Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1, 2007. The underdog rising up, the trick plays, it still resonates more than 10 years later.

The site posted the question to fans on Twitter, where it has more than 70,000 followers, and got about 1,000 replies. The top 68 were then whittled down to a top 25. Interestingly, the only other game that had a non-Power 5 team in it was Appalachian State’s upset of Michigan in 2007, coming in at No. 5.

In that span, the Broncos played plenty of interesting, non-Fiesta Bowl games. The 2007 game against Nevada (69-67 in four OTs), the 2010 win over Virginia Tech and yes, the 2010 loss to Nevada come to mind as pretty great games. Any other Boise State games since 2000 worthy to be mentioned?
