The recently-approved pregame gathering place for Boise State football fans will be called “The Huddle,” held inside Caven-Williams Sports Complex before each home game.
Only ticketed fans will be allowed inside, with doors opening three hours prior to kickoff. The Huddle will close 30 minutes before the game. Fans will be allowed to purchase food, soft drinks, beer and wine at the event. The Idaho State Board of Education approved the creation of the pregame festivities in June. Fans will still be able to have alcohol in designated pregame tailgating areas around Albertsons Stadium.
In prior seasons, alcohol was sold in Caven-Williams, but only for corporate sponsors and their guests. Boise State hopes to make it a gathering place in a comfortable environment, as those late kickoffs in the fall can get chilly. College football games will be shown live on televisions at The Huddle. There will also be activities for those under 21.
Parking lots will open eight hours prior to kickoff on weekends, while for Friday contests lots will open four hours prior to game time.
