Denver center Matt Paradis (Boise State, Council High), a sixth-round draft pick who started on the practice squad last season, is listed No. 1 on the Broncos’ first depth chart of the preseason, the team announced Monday. Paradis started working with the first unit last week, while offseason No. 1 center Gino Gradkowski started working with the second unit, where he is listed on the depth chart.
The Denver Post reported Monday that the Broncos’ offensive line is starting with Paradis, left tackle Ty Sambrailo (in place of the injured Ryan Clady, Boise State) and left guard Max Garcia. Those three have never taken a regular season snap in the NFL. They join right tackle Ryan Harris and right guard Louis Vasquez on the depth chart.
“Don’t read too much into what’s going on up front or anywhere,” coach Gary Kubiak told reporters Sunday. “It’s going to be very competitive. They’re going to win and lose jobs in these preseason games.”
The Broncos play their first preseason game Friday at Seattle.
