Boise State has fared well with sturdy Texas high school running backs, and another committed to the Broncos' 2016 recruiting class Saturday.
Robert Mahone, a 6-foot, 200-pound tailback at Prosper High, announced via Twitter he plans to join the Broncos next year. Mahone rushed for 514 yards and four touchdowns while adding 104 receiving yards last season as a junior.
Mahone also had offers from Colorado State, SMU and Arkansas State, among others. He is the first running back commitment for the Broncos' next class. When he posted the news, Mahone also put up a photo of former Bronco back Jay Ajayi, a fellow Dallas-area native.
