The Boise State Broncos were not the only team to win Monday night.
The Fox network scored the night's highest television ratings with 13.7 million viewers for the Fiesta Bowl, according to a published report on TV.com. The estimated rating for the game, based on data immediately available, was 7.5, according to zap2it.com.
It is the largest television audience to watch a Boise State football game.
The previous high to watch a Boise State game was the matchup with Louisville in the 2004 Liberty Bowl. That game drew a 4.6 rating on ESPN.
This year's Fiesta Bowl crowd of 73,719 at soldout University of Phoenix Stadium was down slightly from the 76,196 fans who turned out to watch Ohio State defeat Notre Dame 34-20 in the 2006 game at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe.
The 2006 Fiesta Bowl received a 12.9 Nielsen rating. The 2005 game between Utah and Pittsburgh drew a 7.4, the lowest-rated BCS game ever.
