The Broncos picked up wins at 149 and 174 pounds but lost to Wyoming 33-6 at Bronco Gym on Sunday.
Sophomore Geordan Martinez, ranked No. 17 nationally, beat Cole Mendenhall 11-6 at 149, and redshirt junior Austin Dewey earned a 4-1 decision at 174.
Other than that, it was all Wyoming (2-5, 1-3 Big 12). Boise State (3-3, 1-0 Pac-12) continues its homestand Jan. 29 against Northern Colorado at Taco Bell Arena.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO SWIMMING: The women’s team grabbed a late victory in the 14th and final event to defeat Whitman College 128-125 in Walla Walla, Wash. The C of I swimmers won eight events, including a school record. Kelly Burnham set the record in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 19.60 seconds. The men’s team lost 155-105 to Whitman. Dylan Osborne led the team with victories in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly.

C OF I SKIING: The Coyotes won both the men’s and women’s giant slalom titles at the Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference opener. Mary Totten (Borah High) won the women’s event, and Anton Waller won for the men.
Idaho State names Troxel offensive coordinator
Head coach Mike Kramer named Matt Troxel to the position Saturday. Troxel has been an assistant with the Bengals since Kramer arrived in 2010. He was offensive line coach until 2013 and served as assistant head coach for offense last season. He is the son of Van, Troxel, who recently retired after 22 years as the head coach for Lake City High in Coeur d’Alene.
