Idaho college sports roundup (Sunday, Sept. 13): College of Idaho men’s soccer off to 3-0 start

Mehmed Selimovic (Mountain View High) scored in the second minute, and the Yotes beat Oregon Tech 4-0 at Simplot Stadium to earn their third straight shutout to start the season. Joe Bolin (Payette High), Joao Cardoso (Bishop Kelly High) and Tyler Sharp also scored for C of I (2-0 Cascade Conference), which is 3-0 overall for the first time since 1991. Cardoso also had two assists.

C OF I WOMEN’S SOCCER: Jamiece Yizar had a hat trick in the second half, and the Yotes (6-1, 2-0 Cascade) beat Oregon Tech 4-1 in Caldwell.

BOISE STATE MEN’S GOLF: The Broncos opened the season with a 12th-place finish at the 16-team Falcon Invitational at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Tristan Rohrbaugh led BSU with a 22nd-place finish at 2-over 218.

BSU SOCCER: The Broncos lost to Weber State 3-2 in overtime, allowing a last-minute goal in regulation and conceding a penalty kick in the second OT period. Freshmen Eva Herrera and Laura Buck scored for BSU (1-4-2).
