Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State soccer drops home opener

The Broncos fell to Washington State 2-1 Sunday at Boas Soccer Complex. Michelle Reed scored the first goal of the season for Boise State (0-3). The announced crowd of 916 was the third-largest attendance in program history, and the most since 2010. The Broncos host Idaho at 4 p.m. Friday.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S SOCCER: The Coyotes opened their season with an 8-0 win over Sierra Nevada in Caldwell. Joe Bolin recorded his fourth career hat trick to help the C of I score its most goals in a game since 2003.

C OF I WOMEN’S SOCCER: The C of I (2-0) earned its most prolific win in 22 years with a 9-0 victory over Sierra Nevada in Caldwell. Sierra Nevada, a first-year program, suited only nine players.

C OF I VOLLEYBALL: The Coyotes (2-6) split two matches in the Big Sky Challenge in Butte, Mont., late Saturday night. The C of I defeated Oregon Tech 28-26, 17-25, 25-14, 28-26 before losing to The Master’s College 25-14, 9-25, 25-23, 23-25, 16-14.
