Boise State

Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State soccer earns key road win

Michelle Reed scored 34 seconds after re-entering the game, and Janelle Flores had three saves in her third shutout of the season to give the Broncos a 1-0 victory at Colorado State on Sunday. The Broncos (7-9-3, 5-5-0 Mountain West) stayed alive in the race for the six-team conference tournament and are tied for fifth with one game remaining. Utah State, BSU’s opponent in Friday’s finale, UNLV and Colorado College also are 5-5-0 and have 15 points, while fourth-place Wyoming (5-4-1 MW) has 16. Boise State advances with a victory, is eliminated with a loss and would have to rely on other match results if it ties.

IDAHO WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Vandals (13-4-1, 9-0-0) clinched the Big Sky regular-season title with a 2-0 victory at Northern Colorado. Idaho will host the Big Sky Tournament, which starts Nov. 5.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO SWIMMING: Both Yotes teams finished second at the Bay Area Invitational in Oakland, Calif., on Saturday.
