Borah High grad Brittany Owens transfers to Boise State track team

Brittany Owens will transfer from Louisville and return to Boise with one year of eligibility remaining.

The two-time Idaho Girls Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year at Boarh earned second-team All-American honors in 2014 in the long jump while at Louisville, finishing 10th at the national championships. The Boise State women’s track and field team’s 16-member class of 2015 also includes 2014 Timberline High grad Anna Hartwick, who The distance runner took 11th in the 3,200 at the 2014 5A state track meet.

Alaska native Allie Ostrander, who won the Nike Cross Nationals title in December, highlights the recruiting class.

NNU BASEBALL ADDS SIX TRANSFERS: Three Treasure Valley Community College products — Brady Baker, Ryan Nyborg and Spencer Pollock (Payette High) — will join the Crusaders next season, as will Jaramy Jacobs (Ohlone College), Brett Nielsen (Tacoma CC) and Ulysses Ramos (Chabot College).
