Boise State runners win semifinal heats at NCAAs

Senior David Elliott won his heat in the men’s 1,500 meters Wednesday at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field, running the fastest time of the day — 3 minutes, 40.44 seconds — for the top spot in Friday’s finals. Elliott’s time improved his school record in the event. Teammate and fellow senior Jordin Andrade won his heat in the men’s 400 hurdles. Andrade’s time of 49.67 seconds qualifies him fifth for Friday’s finals.
