Coach Mike Moroski’s recruiting haul increased to 44 players with the additions announced Tuesday. Defensive backs Tanner Oshiro and Michael Daw will transfer from Menlo College, which dropped football this year, and enter as sophomores. The incoming freshmen include running backs Jackson Thompson (Firth) and Scott Kautz (Sammamish, Wash.); Adrian, Ore., tight end/linebackers Jett McCoy and Tyler Reay; linebackers Tyler Harris (Sandpoint), Jose Reyes (Ontario, Ore.) and Kade Eiguren (Fruitland High); and defensive lineman Zavior Cook (Mountain View High). The Coyotes open their season Aug. 29 against Eastern Oregon at Simplot Stadium.

C OF I SWIMMING: The Coyotes announced the signings of Mitch Hawley (Woods Cross, Utah), Dylan Osborne (Brush Prairie, Wash.), Kelly Burnham (Bountiful, Utah) and Hailie Mazick (Covington, Wash.).
IDAHO STATE SOFTBALL: Catcher Vicky Galasso was named the Big Sky Player of the Year for the second time, and shortstop Hailey Breakwell, outfielder Kacie Burnett and utility player Ashlyn Ames also made the All-Big Sky first team. Pitcher Sophie Slagle made the second team and was co-Newcomer of the Year, and first baseman Maddy Hickman, second baseman Micheala Taylor, utility player Sarah Hayes and Ames (as a pitcher) earned honorable mention.
