Idaho colleges: Boise State men’s tennis wins fourth straight Mountain West title

Toby Mitchell, Brian Foley, Lewis Roskilly and Abe Hawko won the Nos. 3-6 singles matches, and the fifth-seeded Broncos beat seventh-seeded Nevada 4-3 in the final. Boise State (15-15) will compete in the NCAA Tournament for the 10th time in 11 years, and 18th time overall. The field will be announced at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday (NCAA.com). After Nevada’s Moez Chargui and Ryan Andrada won the top two singles matches to tie the score at 3-3, Foley beat Fernando Sunago 7-6 (5), 6-2 to make the Broncos the first Mountain West program with four men’s tennis titles.

IDAHO MEN’S TENNIS: The Vandals (16-11) beat Northern Arizona 4-2 for the Big Sky championship, their first since 1978, and an automatic NCAA Tournament berth.

IDAHO WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Vandals (15-8) beat Sacramento State 4-3 to snap the Hornets’ 13-year streak as Big Sky champions. Idaho will find out its NCAA Tournament opponent during a selection show at 2 p.m. Tuesday (NCAA.com).

BOISE STATE SOFTBALL: The Broncos (12-36, 4-14 Mountain West) beat Colorado State 7-1 to win their second series of the season. Jordan Kreiger and Makenzie Sullivan homered, and Rachel Rodriguez threw a three-hitter.
