Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State men’s tennis advances to Mountain West final

The No. 5 Broncos upset No. 1 New Mexico 4-2 at the Mountain West Tournament semifinals Saturday. Garrett Patton (Boise High), Brian Foley, Lewis Roskilly and Abe Hewko won for the Boise State, which will face Nevada for its fourth straight conference title at 11 a.m. Sunday.

BSU MEN’S GOLF: Junior Shane Allor tied for 10th place with a 2-under 214 at the PING Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah. Boise State took 10th place at 13-over 296. Colorado State won with a team score of 11-under 853.

BSU SOFTBALL: The Broncos (11-36, 3-14 Mountain West) lost to Colorado State 8-5 in nine innings at Dona Larsen Park.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO BASEBALL: The Coyotes (31-24, 13-15 NAIA West) swept Menlo College 7-6 and 10-6 in Atherton, Calif.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE BASEBALL: The Crusaders (26-23, 14-14 GNAC) split a doubleheader with Montana State Billings, losing 16-0 and winning 5-4 in Billings.

NNU SOFTBALL: The Crusaders (9-36, 2-22 GNAC) were swept by St. Martin’s 8-0 in six innings and 11-7 in their regular-season finale in Nampa.

IDAHO MEN’S TENNIS: The Vandals defeated Montana State 4-1 to advance to the Big Sky Conference championship in Gold River, Calif. Idaho will defend its title against Arizona on Sunday.

LEWIS-CLARK STATE BASEBALL: The Warriors (39-10, 23-4) defeated British Columbia 4-3 in 11 innings in Lewiston. Lewis-Clark State clinched the NAIA West title Friday.
