Idaho colleges roundup: Two Boise State runners set school records at track meets

David Elliott took first place and set a Boise State record in the men’s 1,500 meters with a time of 3:41.61 at the Bryan Clay Invitational late Friday. Also Friday, Emma Bates set a school record in the women’s 1,500 (4:16.37) at the nearby Mt. SAC Relays. On Saturday, Jordin Andrade took second in the 400 hurdles (50.62), and Mackenzie Flannigan finished second in the 200 (23.72).

BSU MEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos (12-15, 4-3 MW) defeated Utah State 4-0 and Idaho 6-1 at the Appleton Tennis Center. Boise State earned the fifth seed in the conference championship and will face Fresno State at 3 p.m. Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M.

BSU WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos (9-12, 2-4 Mountain West) lost to Utah State 4-3 in Logan. Bobbi Oshiro and Sammie Watson won for BSU.

BSU SOFTBALL: The Broncos (10-34, 2-12 Mountain West) lost to Fresno State 4-3 in Fresno, Calif.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO BASEBALL: The Coyotes (28-21, 10-12 NAIA West) were swept by Concordia 3-2 and 10-0 in Caldwell.

C OF I SOFTBALL: The Coyotes (19-31, 11-17 Cascade) split a doubleheader with Southern Oregon, losing 7-1 and winning 9-5 in Caldwell.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE BASEBALL: The Crusaders (25-20, 13-11 GNAC) swept Central Washington 10-7 and 4-0 in Nampa.

NNU TRACK AND FIELD: Taylor Deskins took second in the women’s 100 meters at the Mark Faldo Invitational in Logan, Utah.
