Idaho colleges: Boise State volleyball player makes national team

Middle blocker Kaitlyn Oliver is one of 36 players selected to the U.S. Collegiate National Team program for the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships in June in New Orleans. The program is considered a second tryout for the U.S. Women’s National Team. Oliver was the Mountain West’s newcomer of the year as a redshirt freshman in 2014 after hitting .358 with 230 kills and 80 blocks.

BSU MEN’S GOLF: The Broncos finished third at the UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Kyle Mitsunaga (Boise High) finished fifth at 1-over 217, and Ty Travis (Eagle High) was eighth, two shots back. After a collective 1-under round, BSU finished at 15-over 879, five behind the victorious host.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Coach Dave Daniels will retire at the end of May. Daniels was head coach at NNU for four seasons, going 34-58, and reached the GNAC Tournament semifinals this season.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO GOLF: The women’s team finished second and the men fifth at the NCU Invitational in Springfield, Ore. Lexi Oropeza (Caldwell High) led the Coyotes individually with a tie for seventh in the women’s tournament.
