Idaho colleges roundup: Heidemann nets winner on Boise State senior day

Brooke Heidemann (Rocky Mountain High) scored from 16 yards out in the 71st minute, giving the Broncos’ soccer team a 2-1 victory over Air Force on Sunday at Boas Soccer Complex. Heidemann, playing her final home game, converted a pass from freshman Addison Standlee (Rocky Mountain) for her sixth goal in as many games. She tied the school record with her ninth career game-winning goal. “We’re running out of words to describe her,” coach Jim Thomas said. “She’s a special, special player. There’s no way you would expect a player to do the things that that kid does. What a sign-off note that was. That was dropping the mic and walking out of the theater.” The Broncos (6-8-1, 4-4-0 Mountain West) are tied for fifth place with three road games to go. The top six qualify for the conference tournament in San Diego.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S SOCCER: Tyrell Johnson and Andres Idoeta scored to give the Yotes (7-4, 6-4 Cascade) a 2-0 victory over Eastern Oregon in their home finale in Caldwell.

C OF I WOMEN’S SOCCER: Jamiece Yizar scored on a header in overtime as the Yotes (11-2, 7-1) beat Eastern Oregon 1-0 in Caldwell.
