Boise State men’s basketball gets commitment from 6-10 German forward

Boise State's men's basketball team will get a late addition for the 2015-16 season, sources told the Idaho Statesman, and he's making a long trek to get there.

The Broncos have secured a commitment from 6-foot-10 German forward Robin Jorch, who plans to enroll at Boise State this week. Jorch initially signed with Liberty in November, but was released from his letter of intent once the Flames made a coaching change after the season. Here is the press release from Liberty when he signed.

Jorch, who has played four seasons on the German national team, is 21 years old, and his eligibility for the upcoming season is not certain because he has been a few years out of high school. If he loses a season of eligibility, like former Bronco Edmunds Dukulis did in 2012-13, he can still practice with the team.

In 2014-15 for RSV Eintracht Stansdorf, Jorch averaged 10.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 30.9 percent from 3-point range.

The Broncos, who have not made the signing official, have two scholarships open after guard Dezmyn Trent was kicked off the team Thursday and center Kevin Allen transferred this summer.

Here is the roster as it stands with Jorch's commitment:

Seniors: G/F Anthony Drmic (6-6, 204); G Mikey Thompson (6-4, 179); G Montigo Alford (5-9, 164); G Lonnie Jackson (6-4, 175, Boston College graduate transfer); G James Reid (6-3, 200, walk-on transfer from Arkansas-Little Rock, will redshirt in 2015-16)

Juniors: F James Webb III (6-9, 202); F Nick Duncan (6-8, 245)

Sophomores: G Chandler Hutchison (6-7, 190); F/C David Wacker (6-10, 238)

Freshmen: F Zach Haney (6-11, 232, redshirted last season); G Paris Austin (5-11, 160); G Malek Harwell (6-4, 175); F Robin Jorch (6-10, 200 - committed, per sources)
