Hawks top Hops behind hitting barrage

Boise collected 13 hits, including five doubles, as the Hawks completed their first sweep of the season, defeating Hillsboro 6-4 on Saturday at Ron Tonkin Field. It’s Boise’s first road sweep since August 2013. The Hawks also hit back-to-back home runs for the first time since August 2013 when Terry McClure and Nate Causey both went deep in the fifth inning. McClure finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Kevin Padlo went 3-for-5 with two doubles. Boise (23-39) opens a new series at Vancouver on Sunday.
