The West Valley Little League baseball team defeated Cascade (Vancouver, Wash.) 8-7 in a loser-out semifinal Friday.
An error with the bases loaded and two outs led to a run for Cascade. Mason Hill advanced to third on the play, but the umpires called an out after the third-base coach touched Hill on his way to scoring the tying run, giving West Valley the win.
The Eagle team will play Wilshire-Riverside (Portland) in the Northwest Regional championship at 1 p.m. Saturday on ESPN. The winner advances to the Little League World Series.
