Peter Van Gansen (Tri-City Dust Devils) hit a walk-off single to give the Northwest League a 6-5 victory over the Pioneer League late Tuesday in front of 7,083 fans at Avista Stadium. It was the first year the two leagues played an All-Star Game. Three Boise Hawks were on the Northwest League roster. Third baseman Kevin Padlo went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and one run scored. Catcher Hamlet Marte was 1-for-3 with one run, and first baseman Brian Mundell went 0-for-2. The Hawks open a three-game series at the Hillsboro Hops on Thursday, and host a series against the Eugene Emeralds starting Sunday.
