Hawks rally falls short in loss to Canadians

The Hawks fell behind early and never fully recovered, losing their second straight to Vancouver 6-4 on Thursday night at Memorial Stadium. The Canadians jumped on a 2-0 in the top of the first, then added four in the fifth to make it 6-1. The Hawks (15-27, 1-3 second half) made one final push in the bottom of the ninth, scoring three runs. Boise is now 2-23 when trailing entering the ninth inning. Logan Sawyer took his second loss of the season, giving up eight hits and six earned runs with two walks and one strikeout in five innings. The Hawks were coming off a 5-4 loss to the Canadians in 12 innings late Wednesday night, leaving 17 runners stranded.
