KEIZER, Ore. The Hawks batted through the order in the first inning, scoring four runs in a two-out rally to set the tone for an 11-8 win over Salem-Keizer on Thursday night. The victory snapped Boise’s four-game losing streak.
The Volcanoes tied the score 4-4 in the bottom of the inning, but the Hawks added two runs in the second and never looked back.
Four Hawks had multi-hit nights, led by Eric Toole, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Catcher Hamlet Marte hit his second home run of the season and now leads the league in extra-base hits.
The Hawks stole a season-high nine bases to increase their league-leading total to 61.
