Idaho agreed to terms with Daniel Johnston, who played against the Steelheads in the ECHL’s longest game during the 2014 Kelly Cup playoffs.
Johnston, 22, played for Colorado and Evansville last season, finishing with four goals, eight assists and 100 penalty minutes in 59 games.
The 6-foot-2, 211-pounder is the second defenseman officially added to the Steelheads’ training camp roster, joining Jake Rutt.
Idaho’s season begins Oct. 16 against Rapid City at CenturyLink Arena.
