Corey Simpson hit a game-tying, two-run single in the eighth inning, and Alex Jackson followed with a two-run homer to give Everett a 5-3 victory over Boise on Tuesday night. The Hawks (5-8) again blew a lead in the late innings, giving up four eighth-inning runs after surrendering five in the seventh inning of a 10-7 loss Monday night. Yonathan Daza hit a two-run homer in the first for Boise on Tuesday, and Kevin Padlo followed with a solo shot in the third for a 3-1 advantage. Javier Palacios allowed four hits in six innings for the Hawks, striking out three while giving up an unearned run. Taylor Black took the loss after giving up four runs on five hits in two innings. Boise returns home to face Salem-Keizer in a three-game series that starts at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
