Boise Hawks announce initial roster

With a new parent club comes a new roster. That’s what the Hawks unveiled Wednesday when the first 23 players arrived in town. Now a Colorado Rockies affiliate, the club’s first group of players includes 11 pitchers, two catchers, six infielders and four outfielders. The highest-drafted player on the roster is 2014 fifth-rounder Kevin Padlo. The third baseman, who turns 19 next month, hit .300 with eight homers last season in rookie league, but hit .145 in 27 games this season at Class A Asheville. The Hawks open June 18 at home against Tri-City.
