Idaho colleges roundup: Five Northwest Nazarene track athletes make all-region squad

Three Crusader women and two men were named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s Division II West Region team Monday. Freshmen Chelsey Knott (Parma High) and Lexi Tubbs, each of whom set the school record in the women’s 100-meter hurdles this month (14.26 and 14.23 seconds respectively) were honored, along with sophomore shot putter Taylor VanValey. Freshman Payton Lewis (Nampa Christian High), the GNAC pole vault champion, and sophomore pole vaulter Cole Hoberg are on the men’s team. The top five in each region in their respective events make the all-region team.

NNU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Crusaders signed Pocatello High guard Carly Parker. The 5-foot-9 Parker averaged 13.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.7 steals as a senior.
