After a year of only playing teams in the Pacific Division, the Steelheads will start the 72-game season at home against a new West Division opponent, the Rapid City Rush, on Oct. 16 and 17 at CenturyLink Arena. The club released the 2015-16 schedule Monday.
Idaho also will host Allen, Texas (Dec. 18), Tulsa (Jan. 15) and Missouri (April 8) of the Central Division for the first time in club history, and 2004 Kelly Cup playoff opponents Gwinnett, Ga. (Nov. 4) and Florida (Dec. 2) of the South Division will return to Boise. The Steelheads will make their first visits to Orlando (Nov. 12) and Wichita (Feb. 20).
In addition to 25 interdivision games, Idaho has 13 games scheduled against Utah, 12 apiece against Alaska and Rapid City, and 10 against Colorado in their new-look division after Ontario, Bakersfield and Stockton left the ECHL for the AHL.
