Coach Brad Ralph isn’t thrilled that his Steelheads have allowed nine goals in the first three games of their playoff series against Utah.
It’s probably killing him that two of the first three games have reached overtime — there have been four in the other seven ECHL series combined.
But the coach has a strong OT track record (he’s 9-2 all-time in OT playoff games with Idaho), he says there is promise in his young defense, and the next two games are in CenturyLink Arena, where the Steelheads can clinch with victories Friday and Saturday nights.
Idaho leads the series 2-1, with four scheduled games in the next five nights, including three in Boise (series schedule, A14). The winner meets the survivor of the Colorado-Ontario series, which Colorado leads 3-1 going into a home game Friday.
