Idaho colleges: College of Idaho baseball player goes 6-for-6 in win

Jordan Grubbs became the third Coyotes player with six hits in a game, and his walkoff double in the 10th inning gave the C of I (29-22, 11-13) a 6-5 victory over Concordia and a split of an NAIA West doubleheader Sunday at Wolfe Field. Grubbs was 6-for-6 with a run and two RBIs, joining Greg Schelhaas (1999) and Scott Freeman (2001) on the Coyotes’ six-hit list, and the hosts snapped the Cavaliers’ 10-game winning streak with their fifth win on the final at-bat. The senior outfielder also went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI in the day’s first game, a 15-8 loss.

BOISE STATE SOFTBALL: The Broncos (10-35, 2-13 Mountain West) lost to Fresno State 5-0 as the Bulldogs completed a three-game sweep. Makenzie Sullivan had two of BSU’s five hits.

BIG SKY WOMEN’S GOLF: Idaho is tied for third after the first day of the conference championships in Chandler, Ariz. Amy Hasenoehrl is tied for seventh after a 74, and the Vandals (301) are three shots behind first-place Sacramento State. Idaho State is last in the 12-team field at 348.

C OF I WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Coyotes (4-7) lost to No. 16 Lewis-Clark State 8-1 in Lewiston.
