Idaho colleges roundup: Three Boise State wrestlers earn all-academic honors

Redshirt freshman Carson Kuhn (125 pounds) was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic second team Friday. Redshirt freshman Gaylen Edmo (285) and senior Holden Packard (165/174/184) were honorable mentions for Boise State.

BSU MEN’S TENNIS: Boise State (7-14, 1-2 Mountain West) lost to New Mexico 4-1 at the Appleton Tennis Center. Garrett Patton won for the Broncos.

BSU WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos (8-10, 2-2 MW) earned a 4-3 victory at Air Force. Teal Vosburgh, Megan LaLone, Bobbi Oshiro and Sammie Watson won for Boise State.

BSU SAND VOLLEYBALL: The Broncos (2-5) beat San Francisco 3-2 and San Jose State 4-1 in Sacramento, Calif.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO BASEBALL: The Coyotes (25-13, 9-5 NAIA West) beat league rival Lewis-Clark State (25-9, 10-4) 13-3 in Caldwell. The Coyotes have won back-to-back games against LCSC for the first time in 17 years.

C OF I SOFTBALL: The Coyotes (16-21, 7-8 Cascade) beat Northwest Christian 7-1 in Eugene. The second game of a doubleheader was suspended by rain in the ninth inning with the score 10-10. No date has been announced for when the game will be completed.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE TRACK AND FIELD: Payton Lewis (Nampa Christian High) set a school record and took fifth in the men’s pole vault (16 feet, 10.75 inches) at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Kirk Gartrell took second in the men’s long jump (21 feet) at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.

NNU SOFTBALL: The Crusaders (6-28, 1-13 GNAC) lost to Simon Fraser 13-6 and 6-5 late Thursday night in Burnaby, B.C.
