Firebird Raceway opens its 48th season of NHRA drag racing with the 21st annual Spring Swap Meet & Warm Up. Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday, with the quarter-mile track open for testing from 10:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Admission costs $7(adults) and $3 (ages 6-12), and tickets are available at the gate. Testing costs $30 for a full day tech card, while vendor space is $25. The facility will host more than 50 racing dates this season, highlighted by the 44th annual Pepsi Nightfire Nationals on Aug. 13-16. Firebird is located 5 miles north of Highway 44 on Highway 16, about 10 minutes northwest of Eagle.
