Air Force, Western Michigan to meet Dec. 20 in Boise's Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

The Broncos will play in Boise on Dec. 20.

Well, the Western Michigan Broncos, that is.

Western Michigan will take on Air Force in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl at Albertsons Stadium. The Dec. 20 game will kick off at 3:45 p.m. on ESPN.

Air Force was the only Mountain West team to beat Boise State, defeating the blue-clad Broncos 28-14 on Sept. 27.

The matchup includes two teams that can put up points and big yardage on the ground. Western Michigan averages 34.6 points per game and features freshman running back Jarvion Franklin, who has rushed for 1,525 yards and 24 touchdowns. Air Force averages 30.9 ppg and 274.9 rushing yards per game. The Falcons feature one of the best-named players in college football in safety Weston Steelhammer, who has six interceptions.

Western Michigan (8-4) has never won a bowl game in five appearances, and Air Force (9-3) is 10-12-1 in 23 bowl game appearances.
