Idaho agreed to terms with Mark Louis on an ECHL contract Thursday. Louis, 28, has played the past four seasons in the American Hockey League. The native of Ponoka, Alberta, played 174 games for the Portland Pirates from 2012-15 and finished last season playing seven games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He tallied one goal and 15 points in 181 professional games. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder racked up 349 penalty minutes in 174 games for Portland, ranking 12th all-time for the Pirates. The Steelheads open the regular season Friday, Oct. 16, at home against the Rapid City Rush. It is the first of 36 home games at CenturyLink Arena.
