LARAMIE, Wyo.

A suspended Wyoming basketball player Ny Redding has pleaded not guilty to assault and battery charges.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Redding entered the plea last Friday in Albany County Circuit Court to two counts of simple assault and one count of battery through his attorneys.

Redding also requested that his initial court appearance set for Thursday be vacated and a scheduling conference be set for Feb. 21 prior to the case being scheduled for a jury trial.

Court documents say the charges stem from a December incident at a Laramie bar in which Redding is accused of striking a female student, leaving her unconscious, and swinging at a another female student, hitting her in the nose.
