Boise Idaho’s power play was 3-for-3, and the Steelheads snapped their four-game losing streak with a 6-2 win over Rapid City in a ECHL hockey game on Friday night at CenturyLink Arena.
Travis Ewanyk broke a 2-2 tie in the second period, his second of the game, and assisted on Travis Walsh’s power-play goal four minutes later to break the game open.
Rob Linsmayer and Connor Chatham added two more in the third, completing the rout for Idaho (14-9-3).
Goalie Branden Komm made 29 saves. The Steelheads finish their series with the Rush at 7:10 p.m. Saturday before heading to the Allen Americans next Thursday and Friday.
Idaho announced earlier Friday that defenseman Eric Springer joined the team. Springer played three games with the Utah Grizzlies this season.
