A wet morning cleared into a dry afternoon, and driver Robert Tehle, of Billings, Mont., made the most of it, capturing the top spot in Open Wheel qualifying at the NAPA Halloween Classic at Firebird Raceway on Saturday.
Tehle posted a 4.12 elapsed time at 173.56 mph in the eighth-mile distance.
Dan Lafferty of Wendell topped Full Bodied qualifying, clocked a 4.53/153.96. Racing resumes at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Adult admission is $15, ages 6-12 is $5, and 5 and younger is free.
