Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area will evaluate conditions next week and decide whether to re-open for the April 22-23 weekend.

Sunday currently is scheduled as the ski area’s closing day. A decision will be made Wednesday or Thursday, General Manager Brad Wilson said.

Bogus Basin received 8 inches of snow Thursday night into Friday, pushing the season total to 256 inches. The base is still 60 inches.

A mid-April snowstorm dropped 8 inches at Bogus Basin and has the ski area considering a bonus weekend of skiing.

If the ski area opens for an extra weekend, it will operate from Pioneer Lodge and only the Superior and Pine Creek chairs will be open.

The annual pond skimming event runs from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. An Easter egg hunt will be held Sunday.
