The popular sand hill at Camel’s Back Park in Boise will be stabilized in a $170,000 project that begins this week.
Trails in the immediate area will be closed for safety. The estimated construction time is 45-60 days.
The 9th Street parking lot will remain open. Trail users are asked to yield to construction crews and equipment.
Heavy use and weather have eroded the chute. The project will add stairs on the upper portion of the sand chute to stabilize the soils. The ski lift cables will be reused as hand rails for the steps.
