Shane's Trail off Rocky Canyon Road is a quick Foothills hike with panoramic views of the Valley.
This is a good time to hike the trail before it gets too hot. Parts of it are on dry, grassy slopes that bake in the afternoon sun during the summer months.
Now also is a good time to see wildflowers starting to bloom.
The trail is a good beginner hike, as well as a place to go to avoid other crowded trails in the Foothills.
Shane's Trail links to other mountain bike trails. It can be a short, quick hike or mountain bike ride, or a longer outing.
The trail is part of the Ridge to Rivers Trail System and is only about 10 minutes from Downtown.
