What's there: Trophy trout.
Description: This 6,200-acre lake is a destination for trophy trout. The lake also contains some monster cutthroat, rainbow, hybrids and brook trout. Catching a 20-incher won't even raise an eyebrow.
The lake is broad and shallow, and at the foot of large mountains. It has a well-deserved reputation for fierce weather, so be careful with small craft on this lake. It is also a short drive from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, which also offers some amazing fishing.
Getting there: If you prefer freeway driving, take I-84, I-86 and I-15 and then U.S. 20 to the lake, or take I-84 to Mountain Home and U.S. 20 the rest of the way.
