Wood River Campground

The Wood River Campground north of Ketchum is a woodsy campground along a mountain stream.

But there's a lot more to it than that. It's about 15 minutes from Ketchum, so you can visit the resort town during the day and be back in camp for some evening trout fishing or bike riding along the Harriman Trail.

How to get there: Drive 10 miles north of Ketchum on Idaho 75; GPS coordinates, 43 degrees, 47.669 1/3 N; 114 degrees, 27.402 1/3 W.

Activities: Fishing in the Wood River and bicycling or walking on the Harriman Trail. Lots of places to visit, like Galena Lodge, are close by.

Amenities: Outhouses, picnic tables, fire rings and 30 drive-in sites.

Nearest place to get supplies: The Ketchum area is about 10 miles to the south and has everything you need.

Fees/reservations: No reservations, it's first-come, first-served; fees are $10 a night for single sites or $18 for doubles or bigger.
