It is right off the freeway, but it is more than a roadside attraction. The park is also next to the Snake River, so you can boat and fish. It has hiking trails and good opportunities to see waterfowl.
How to get there: Take I-84 about 200 miles east to the park.
Activities: Fishing, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, Oregon Trail viewing, interpretive programs.
Amenities: Showers, flush toilets, a store, RV dump station, boat ramps and docks, canoe and kayak rentals starting at $5 an hour.

Fees/reservations: 41 campsites $21.20 with power and water. Four cabins $47.70 with electricity, heat and air conditioning but no bathroom or kitchen. Reservations through a call center at (866) 634-3246 or online at the park's Web site.
