REC FESTIVAL AT EAGLE ISLAND ON AUG. 22

The Idaho Recreation Festival is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Eagle Island State Park, 4000 W. Hatchery Rd.

This family-oriented event hosted by the Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation includes hands-on recreational clinics, exhibits, demonstrations, giveaways and food vendors.

Admission is $5 per car (free for Idaho State Park passport holders). Free passes are available at Treasure Valley Zamzow’s stores.

FISH AND GAME APPROVES FALL CHINOOK SEASON

The season opens Sept. 1 on the following rivers:

• On the Snake River from the Washington-Idaho border upstream to Hells Canyon Dam.



• From the mouth of the Clearwater River upstream to Memorial Bridge.



• From the mouth of the Salmon River upstream about three-fourths of a mile to Eye of the Needle Rapids.



A valid fishing license and salmon permit are required. Only adipose-clipped chinook may be kept. The daily bag limit is six adults; the possession limit is 18. There is no season limit on adult fall chinook.
