Just when you thought they couldn't find any other way to rank Boise in a top 10 list, Singletracks.com has managed an unexpected twist that makes perfect sense: beer and bikes.
Spoiler alert: Boise ranked second behind Bend, Ore., in towns that have a high ratio of trails and breweries.
Irony alert: One of the first breweries mentioned is Bend-based 10 Barrel, but Table Rock (now closed) and Sockeye also got a mention.
Lest you think this list was just tossed together by some hyper-pedaling lush, there was SCIENCE behind it.
Well, almost: "My criteria for this list is that each town/city must have 10 breweries listed in the craftbeer.com database and 10 recognized, listed trails here in the Singletracks.com database. To make it even more prestigious, there must be at least one winner from the World Beer Cup (the Olympics of the beer industry that has entries from across the world, not just the U.S.) and one trail that makes the top ten list for the entire state."
You can see the whole list here.
