If you want a up-close look at a chinook salmon swimming around, head to the MK Nature Center in Boise.
Six of the giant sea-run fish were put in the underwater display at the center located off Walnut Street behind Idaho Fish and Game headquarters.
They are impressive fish and you get eye to eye with them. If the hand, finger, nose and face prints on the glass at the display are any indication, the fish are pretty popular with kids.
The fish will be at the center until they spawn and die. You get the real outdoors and nature at the center.
The best salmon watching is in the morning on weekdays when there aren't too many people at the center. The fish might come right up to the glass at that time.
